Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language - 120 hour course programme

 The 120 hour certificate in TEFL covers an extended syllabus. Many employers regard the standard for the profession as being a course which comprises a hundred or more hours of study time.There is a focus on lesson planning and practical teaching skills which will equip those who are new to the profession and inspire those who already have some experience.

 This course is ideal for those who wish to gain a professional qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign language.
 There is also the opportunity to gain the Certificate in Teaching Practice at one of our partner schools with the possibility of being offered a teaching post at the end of the course. ( Subject to conditions being met.)

Personal Tutor:

You are assigned a personal tutor as soon as you enrol, who will give you help and guidance through the course as well as mark your assignments and give you personal feedback. 

Qualification:

On successful completion of your course, you will receive two qualifications:

Qualification 1: LTTC Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign language

Certificate in TEFL issued by The London Teacher Training College.

Qualification 2: EDI Level 4 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language  Award

This Course leads to an EDI Level 4 Award Certificate for successful learners. That means that it is independently endorsed by EDI at a level of learning equivalent to level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (in which case GCSE's are at levels 1 and 2 and A Levels are at level 3).  

What is EDI?

EDI is a recognised National Awarding Body.

This course is endorsed by EDI. EDI are a leading National Awarding Body, recognised in the U.K by the Department for Education and Skills (DfEs) and regulated by Ofqual. EDI specialise in providing, quality-assuring and certificating vocational learning programmes.  

After each lesson there will be a question paper, which needs to be completed and submitted to your personal tutor for marking. This method of continual assessment ensures that your personal tutor can consistently monitor your progress and provide you with assistance throughout the duration of the course.

The Certificate in TEFL120  is endorsed by EDI at level four. 

It is a very practical course that allows you to gain the necessary skills and techniques to become an effective and successful teacher

The accompanying transcript states that a minimum of 120 hours of study was undertaken

 

The Diploma in TESOL is endorsed by EDI at level five

It takes a slightly more academic approach to language awareness, phonology and classroom management techniques etc

The transcript states that a minimum of 180 hours of study were undertaken to successfully complete the programme
